I tried to do a lot with these characters. I don’t think I was always successful. Juan is meant to be borderline suicidal at this point. Self-destructive and aimless at the very least. That probably doesn’t come across at all. I’m also breaking some sort of writing rule by introducing a gun and never using it for anything or showing it again.
